  DirectCrown™ Bisacryl Technique
1. The teeth were prepared using a tooth-reduction bur utilizing a standard preparation technique (Figure 4) and a laboratory impression was taken.

Figure 4

2. Select the appropriate DirectCrown™ shell that fits the prepared tooth. A size was selected so that it would fit passively over the prepared tooth (and can be modified if necessary). (Figure 5) The excess buccal and lingual walls of the crown shell can be modified to assure proper fit.

Figure 5

3. A shade reading of the patient's adjacent teeth were taken (Figure 6) and the appropriate powder shade (A-2) was selected to provide the best possible shade match to the adjacent dentition. If working with a hybrid acrylic resin, powder shades can be mixed together to provide a better matching if necessary.

4. A few drops of the suitable primer or varnish is dispensed into a mixing dish and applied to the interior wall of the crown shell with an applicator brush handle & tip. (Figures 9 & 10)

5. The primer was then light-cured for approximately 30 seconds using a standard curing light.
6. Integrity Bis-Acryl Temporary Material (from Dentsply Caulk) was applied directly into the inside portion of the crown shell and seated onto the prepared tooth into the required position. (Figure 11)

7. The Bis-Acryl material was allowed to set following manufacturer's guidelines.
8. Finish the crown with an acrylic bur or rubber wheel, polish and cement. (Figure 12)
